Helping people bring important stories into the world
The Author’s Ally is the name I give to the role I play across all areas of my work.
Sometimes, that means helping an emerging writer find the structure and courage to tell a difficult story.
Sometimes, it means supporting an educator who wants to build a more imaginative and inclusive learning experience.
Sometimes, it means helping an organisation communicate a complex idea with greater clarity, honesty and humanity.
My role is not to impose a formula. It is to ask better questions, notice what is missing and help people uncover the story that only they can tell.
Writing workshops (In-person/Virtual)
Join intimate, globally minded writing experiences designed to help you develop your craft, deepen your thinking and become more attentive to the world around you. These programs welcome writers at different stages and from different disciplines. You do not need to arrive with a polished manuscript, only curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to experiment.
Educational consulting
I work with schools, universities, and educational organisations to design thoughtful, creative, and socially engaged learning experiences. My areas of expertise include project-based learning, interdisciplinary curriculum design, arts-based research, reflective practice, and facilitating conversations around difficult or contested subjects.
Speaking and facilitation
I speak and facilitate conversations on storytelling, education, conflict, identity, social change, and the possibilities, and limitations, of art. My sessions are designed to make room for nuance rather than easy answers, inviting audiences to question assumptions, and engage more meaningfully with complexity.
Creative and strategic collaboration
I collaborate with cultural organisations, nonprofits, businesses, and purpose-driven teams that want to explore difficult ideas, develop compelling narratives or create more meaningful engagement with their communities. Each collaboration is shaped around the questions, people and context involved.
