Projects with Purpose

Designing a project but unsure how to bring it to life? This incubator is for you.

Over the course of one month, you’ll get twelve hours of focused, hands-on support to move your project forward. Through tried and tested project-based learning practices, Nandita will offer highly customized mentorship to organize and execute your vision. The sessions could be virtual or in-person, depending on your location; Nandita lives in San Francisco.

Nandita has two decades of experience in arts-based-research, responsive education, and project management: from being an alumna of the prestigious, project-driven Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, to leading arts & experiential education programs at UWC Mahindra College, UWC Dilijan College, UWC-USA & San Francisco University High School, to currently serving as a National Faculty member at Project Based Learning Works. This extensive range of experiences means Nandita can mentor diverse initiatives that involve writing, theatre, or arts-driven community engagement: editing your novel, drafting your memoir, or designing an actionable project timeline for a community-based theatre initiative. If you’re unsure whether or not Nandita can support your specific project, please feel free to reach out and check.

The fee is $500 for twelve hours of support. You can sign up as 1 person or as 2-3 creatives working on the same project — in the case of the latter, the $500 fee applies for the group as a whole.

  • This incubator is for anyone 15 and over who needs support designing and/or developing creative projects that center civic and community engagement. Whether you consider yourself a student, educator, artist, community organizer, or creative-at-large — and however you might define “civic and community engagement” — this incubator will draw from Nandita’s extensive experience in project-based learning to help you meet your unique goals.

Participants under 18 will need signed consent from a legal guardian. Please email nanditadinesh@gmail.com for the form.

You can sign up as an individual or with 1-2 collaborators (maximum group size of three).

  • We start with a conversation to learn more about each other and to explore our mutual fit. We discuss your goals for the project i.e., what you would like to accomplish in our time together. Nandita offers a suggested timeline for how your individualized process might be designed. If you’d like to move forward, you will be requested to sign a letter of agreement.

The project begins when 50% of the fee has been paid ($250); Venmo, Paypal, and Zelle are the only payment options available at the moment. At the end of each week, you will receive an email update about the project. The second payment is due upon delivery of the final product set out in the letter of agreement.
