Writing support for wherever you are

Ally Hours

Bring any piece of writing. Work on it alongside peers. Get feedback from Nandita.

Alternate Sundays / Maximum 5 people / 18+ / Virtual

Sometimes you don't need a whole program. You just need a little momentum.

Ally Hours are for writers who have something they're working on and want a little time, attention, community, or feedback to help them keep going.

Bring whatever you're working on. It can be a new idea, a messy draft, a piece you've been avoiding, or something you're almost ready to share.

How it works

Two hours. Two parts.

Part one

Write

Spend focused writing time alongside a small group of other writers. Bring your own project and use the time however it serves you best.

Part two

Get feedback

Share a piece of your work and receive thoughtful feedback from Nandita and the group.

Why Ally Hours

Enough community. Enough attention.

You don't have to commit to a twelve-week program to benefit from having someone beside you while you write.

Ally Hours or The Incubator?
Ally Hours are a good fit when you want focused group writing time and occasional feedback. If you need sustained, individualized support around a larger project, The Incubator may be a better fit.

What might you bring?

Priya

Priya moves between short stories, essays and writing for work. She doesn't need a weekly mentor. She needs somewhere she can occasionally bring whatever is active and ask, “Can you help me figure this out?”

David

David is a lawyer whose personal writing is always the first thing to disappear when work gets busy. Ally Hours gives him a standing appointment with his own writing, and a community expecting him to show up.
