Write your World
with Fahmidan Education
Explore the power of place-inspired storytelling.
Meet people from diverse contexts & get a glimpse into their worlds.
Learn how creative writing can unlock personal and cultural memory through an engagement with space.
This workshop will take you from your screen and into the places around you. Whether you’re an aspiring author, a student of experimental literature, or a global citizen who is committed to learning from/about the world, this gathering is for you.
What’s more, the works that you create during this intensive will be featured in a special issue of Fahmidan Publishing.

This intensive is for anyone 15 and over with an interest in meeting people from different parts of the world through storytelling. You do NOT need to be a writer to attend — as long as you’re curious and willing to engage, you are welcome!
Participants under 18 will need signed consent from a legal guardian. Please email nanditadinesh@gmail.com for the form. -
Each intensive has a different place and form focus:
November 2025 focused on the physical spaces of doors & windows and explored epistolary writing (literature in the form of letters).
April 2026 will focus on kitchens, restaurants, and spaces that center food, while exploring the literary genre of drama. You will be invited to experiment with what drama can look like — so, if you’re a writer who uses a different genre, please know that you will NOT be forced to write in a particular dramatic style. You will be welcome to find the ways in which your chosen form can be dramatic.

We begin with community building and getting to know each other
We start with storytelling prompts that invite us to engage with the immediate space around us (our homes, our desks, wherever we’re Zoom-ing in from).
We move on to prompts that take us outside our immediate spaces, into the streets around us.
We work on refining the stories generated from the prompts, with time for feedback from Nandita & your peers.
The works that you create during this intensive will be featured in a special issue of Fahmidan Publishing.
-
In order to create a cohesive environment for everyone present, participants are requested to commit to the entire duration of the intensive. Please check your time zones beforehand so that you can decide if this will be possible for you.
-
The fee is $50 for the four hour workshop.
Partial scholarships are already built into the fee. We are unable to provide additional scholarships at this time.
No refunds are possible except in extenuating circumstances that can be evidenced. If there’s a last minute change to your schedule, you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else: just let us know at nanditadinesh@gmail.com
